The EP Hanoi Waltz introduces the first installment of Xinh Xô’s personal album series, capturing the essence of the artist’s memories of Hanoi, Vietnam, during the 1980s, a time marked by the subsidized economy.

This project weaves an intricate tapestry of pure electronic music—modern yet detached from the mainstream pulse of popular electronic sounds. The tracks gently evoke the tranquil nostalgia of the five-story Thành Công apartment complex in Hanoi.

The production process was carried out manually with minimal use of computers, relying primarily on analog modular synthesizer. Aside from the title track "Hanoi Waltz" with its classical waltz, most of other tracks use odd meters, and the percussion follows a Euclidean rhythm, creating a sense of drifting through time and space while maintaining a steady beat.

With six tracks, the artist aims to take listeners back to a nostalgic, dreamy, and old-fashioned space of the 80s, serving as an intersection between the present and memory.
